I went to my job interview. I was kinda rusty. She said there were a lot of applicants so I don't know if I got the job.
Saw this bug today though:

Totally couldn't fall asleep last night. Decided to watch a movie. I guess Spun was a poor choice.

What do you do EVERY day to take care of the earth's environment? What could you do more of?

I'll tell you what I don't do everyday: shower. Gross, maybe, but no one notices. I'm not so stinky.
I ride my bike everyday.
I eat at the organic food cafe-even though I'm poor.
I TRY to eat mostly fruits and veggies.
I recycle most of all the alcohol containers (unless the CA's are around)
I shop at thrift stores.
Becky and I plan on having a vegetable garden this summer.
I'm awesome.
I probably could recycle more.

Despite the veggie statement, I would still eat this pizza:

THE SEALPELT

In the Icelandic myths, seals are believed to be condemned humans. One ancient story from the south of Iceland is about a farmer who early one morning finds a seal pelt lying on the beach. In a cave nearby, he hears voices and music. He takes the seal pelt home and hides it in a wooden chest. Later that day he returns to the beach and finds a crying, naked young woman sitting on a rock. He brings her to his house, where she stays, but he never tells her about the pelt. As time goes by they get married and have children. But the young woman is restless and often stares quietly out of the window at the ocean. One day when the farmer goes fishing, his wife accidentally finds the key of the chest, opens it and discovers the missing pelt. She takes leave of her children, puts the pelt on and before she dives into the ocean she says: “I am very anxious, with seven children on land and seven in the sea.” She never comes back but the farmer misses her terribly. Later when he goes fishing there often is a seal near his boat and its eyes are filled with tears. It is said that the farmer becomes a very lucky fisherman. And when his children play at the beach there often is a seal swimming close to land. Sometimes it brings them beautiful stones and colorful fishes. But their mother never returned.

THE TWOSOME BLANKET

In earlier times, it was a custom in many unheated homes to share beds to stay warm, and even with visiting strangers as a gesture of hospitality. People would lay side by side in the opposite direction to one another to keep each other warm.

THE BEARD CAPS

The beard caps refer to a traditional cap called “lambshed-hood” which was used in Iceland by farmers who in heavy snowstorms had to walk long distances between their sheds and to the neigboring farms. The cap covered both head and neck and had only a small opening for the face.

THE REGIONAL BLANKET

Vikwool is located in the southern coast of Iceland, south of one of the country’s largest glaciers. Under the icemass sleeps one of the most active volcanos of the island, Katla, who wakes up once in a century.

3/11/08 03:35 pm - This guy is super hot..

3/7/08 10:03 am - 5 Hours later

After an hour break- Back at work in the computer lab.
I went to the natural resources museum in the library during my break.
C'est super fantastique.
They have four snakes too!
One was so ADORABLE!
It was a small snake, but it was curled up so tight! Tighter than this:

And its colors were really dark brown and ivory. It had a big bulge in its belly, it looked so happy!
Another one was shedding. It was a baby boa constrictor, like this only smaller and redder:

It had all of its skin loose on every part- except his tail showed the new skin. It was cool.

I don't think its cool when you just kill animals as trophies, but if your going to have them, I think its best for a museum. When I was looking at the rain forest display, I thought to myself: I'll probably never get to see any of these in real life. I wasn't to sad though because the rain forest kinda freaks me out with all those bugs.

Also I was thinking about if I was an animal, would I be happy to be taxidermied? Some people taxiderm their pets, I don't think I would like that, but if I were in a museum I would be down. I'd want to be in a bad-ass pose like this:

WOULD NOT WANT:

to be some creepy joke.
only respectable stuff.

The mountain goat kinda reminds me of my dog Claire, a scottie dog, also does the wart hog.

I think having an egg or taxidermy collection is weird. It would be cool to have a fossil collection or a miniature book collection, but I don't know about a collection where some stuff was killed for you treasure.
All the names of the museum donors were fancy:
August J. Shoenebock
Aldo Leopold
etc.
One day I would like to have a collection to donate to a museum.
Also! They had a cool mini Inuit artifact collection donated by this cute old lady.
It reminded me of all the museums in Alaska I went to- on a smaller scale though.

Summary: I like museums.

3/7/08 05:53 am - WWA

What a weird couple of hours!I got about 10+ hours of sleep, and its 5:30 AM.
Last night I had a dream about catching octopus- only realizing it after watching the Squid and the Whale when I woke up! This morning I had this dream about tribes in a Sam's Club-esque stock room who made flutes by drilling in their arms to communicate with their tribes.
THEN on my way to work I see a ball of light- immediately fear consumes me, but much to my delight its just a shooting star!
As I walk up to the library, I see a new lab assistant- or thought he was, I said hi, but after the first thirty seconds, I knew he wasn't a lab assistant. He turned out to be a very cool guy just wearing a yellow sweatshirt (work uniform color)

So that's that so far!

3/5/08 07:10 pm - So...

ITS blood and gore week as previously mentioned!
My first attempt at a sore face:

3/5/08 05:40 pm - TODAY!

I actually appreciated it! At 9am I learned blood and gore makeup, how to do kinetic blood for punches and stuff! SO COOL! Boils with gelatin, burns with latex! by this lady:

She's so cool she swears alot and always picks me for example. She looks cooler now.

But the icing on the cake was my Public Relations class, my teacher is soooooooooooo wonderful! He is so passionate about public relations! He is so ethical! He is so nice!
He looks like this | | in the front but when he turns to the side he looks like ( ) its so cool! He always tell us stories about how something was bad, but its always good to do the right thing!

C'est super cool!

AND tonight is Project Runway finale! Go Christian! If Jillian wins, I don't know what I'll do.
I'm excited for this summer and next year in our house when we won't have TV.
